Wine and Nine to honor women

Wine and Nine to
honor women
BURTON — As part of its way to recognize Women’s Golf Month, IMA Brookwood Golf Club is hosting a Women’s Wine and Nine event Friday, June 6.
A half-hour golf clinic will start the festivities, followed by a nine-hole golf scramble. Following the long and short games will be a wine and hor d’oeuvres tasting.
The clinic starts at 5 p.m. and will be run by head golf pro Scott Brotebeck, who will provide instruction specifically designed for women. The tasting segment will provide delicious wines and hors d’oeuvres prepared by Culinary Chef Maria LaBrecque.
Participants must be at least 21 to participate, and space is limited to the first 60 women to sign up.
“We are thrilled at the opportunity for women to learn the game of golf and participate in their own event,” said Brotebeck. “There has been a tremendous amount of interest in the Wine and Nine event with calls coming in daily. Pre-registration is recommended since we will most likely sell out prior to the event.”
Interested parties can register at the IMA Brookwood’s golf club at the corner of Davison and Belsay Rds in Burton. A form is also available online at www.brookwoodgolfclub.com.
Cost is $35 and includes nine holes of golf with cart, and the tasting.
Details: Call Brotebeck at 810-742-4920 or e-mail sbrotebeck@flintima.org. — L.P.
