Youth lacrosse hopes to draw girls
GRAND BLANC —
The Grand Blanc Girls’ Youth Lacrosse Club invites girls to participate in the fastest-growing sport in the Midwest.
The club has recently been awarded with a $4,500 equipment grant from US Lacrosse and Warrior Lacrosse is providing the club with goggles, sticks and full goalie gear.
A national lacrosse stick skills clinic will hit the field Feb. 17 at Oakland Yard Mini-dome and will be conducted by Amy Appelt, a national champion and a member of the USA Lacrosse team. The clinic is open to junior high and high school girls.
The club is encouraging girls in grades 6-8 to join the middle school team. Parents of interested players will have an informational meeting Feb. 5 from 5:15-5:45 p.m. at SoccerZone in Grand Blanc.
