Young gridders post wins
GRAND BLANC — The Grand Blanc Youth Football League opened the season last Saturday, its second year in the Mid-Michigan Rural Football League, with three wins.
Three of the six teams that belong to the league played Fenton, with the Grand Blanc JV Red posting a 50-28 win, while the JV White squad edged Fenton, 30-20. The freshman White team also got its first win with a 20-13 victory.
The GBYFL has three JV teams of 10-11-year-olds and three freshman teams of 8-9-year-olds. Games are played Saturdays throughout the fall. Details: www.grandblancyouthfootball.com or www.mmrfl.org. — L.P.

Hunting sight-in days
GRAND BLANC — The Grand Blanc Huntsman’s Club invites the public to use its range free of charge to sight in rifles and shotguns for the upcoming hunting seasons. The rifle range (25, 50 & 100 yards) is open to the public each year prior to the hunting seasons Saturdays, Sept. 27 and. Oct. 25, and Sunday, Oct. 26 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
