Stop Action 2/7/2008[Feb. 7, 2008] GRAND BLANC — The Evans Scholars Foundation recently awarded 25 new Chick Evans caddie scholarships to students from the state of Michigan, including Grand Blanc High School senior Jonathan Rickard, who caddies at Warwick Hills Golf and Country Club.
Stop Action 1/31/2008[Jan. 31, 2008] GRAND BLANC — Former Detroit Red Wing Darren McCarty announced on Jan. 24 while visiting Grand Blanc East Middle School that he will soon leave the Flint Generals to go to the Grand Rapids Griffins in the American Hockey League.
He told the Grand Blanc View that the move to Grand Rapids is something the Red Wings had requested in order to observe his progress. McCarty has indicated that the move to the Griffins looks more definite now.

Parks and Rec. approves Gus Macker funding[Jan. 17, 2008] BURTON — Burton took one step closer to bringing a Gus Macker 3-on-3 basketball tournament to its streets following the Jan. 9 Parks and Recreation Commission meeting.
Stop Action 1/10/2008[Jan. 10, 2008] BURTON — Plans to bring a Gus Macker 3-on-3 basketball tournament to Burton moved forward Monday, after the city council approved letting the Parks and Rec. Dept. enter into a contract with Gus Macker.
