Tennis
The Goodrich boys’ tennis squad rolled this week, dropping Durand and Atherton.
The Martians bombed Atherton off the courts with a 7-1 victory Tuesday. Brad Christensen won at No.2, 6-3, 7-6, and Mike Iden took No. 3, 6-1, 6-0. Justin Slade won at No. 4, 6-2, 6-2, while Tyler Rose fell to his No. 1 counterpart 6-1, 6-3.
In doubles action, Alex Slivka/Matt VanSumeran took No. 1, 6-1, 6-3, while Adam Bishop/Joel Martin won at No. 2, 6-0, 6-1. Mike West/Jake McCormick won the No. 3 battle, 6-0, 6-0, while Joe McAuliffe/Mike Schultz dominated No. 4, 6-1, 6-0.
Last Thursday, the Martians topped Durand, 6-2.
Rose was shut out at No. 1 Singles, while Christensen took No. 2, 6-4, 7-6. Iden won at No. 3, 7-6, 6-0, and Slade fell to his No. 4 counterpart, 6-3, 6-3.
In doubles play, Slivka /Vansumeran were victorious at No. 1, 6-3, 7-5, and Bishop/Martin took No. 2, 6-4, 6-1. Eskuri/McCormick won at No. 3, 6-3, 6-2, and McAuliffe/Schultz defeated their No. 4 counterparts, 6-0, 6-3.
GRAND BLANC
Golf
Meagan Bauer carded a 43 to lead the Bobcats (5-0 Big Nine Conference) to a conference victory over Davison and Carman-Ainsworth in a triangular at Davison Monday.
Shana Bauer and Sasha Burau were right on pace, shooting 45’s to seal the win for Grand Blanc.
Last Thursday, Meagan Bauer and Sarah Dolan carded 82’s to give Grand Blanc a 172-185 edge over Big Nine rival Flint-Kearsley.
