Troubadours visit
possible with funding
GRAND BLANC — The Flint Institute of Music’s multicultural program the Troubadours will visit Grand Blanc elementary schools, thanks to the support of the Grand Blanc Educational Foundation.
The program is designed for elementary-aged children and allows them to explore different cultures through music. Performances are April 17 at Reid; May 22 at Brendel for Brendel and City School students; and May 22 at McGrath for McGrath and Anderson students.
Funding for the Troubadour’s visit has been partially underwritten by donations from the Grand Blanc Wal-Mart and Sam’s Club. — N.B.

Transition meeting for incoming freshmen
GRAND BLANC — A meeting for parents of incoming freshmen of Grand Blanc High School is 7 p.m. May 15 in the gymnasium of the high school’s West Campus, One Jewett Trail.
The meeting, “A Partnership for Success,” is sponsored by Grand Blanc Community Schools. The session is designed to assist parents with the leap from middle school to the high school level. Topics for discussion include understanding the expectations of high school; supporting your child in his/her freshman year; and methods for getting various types of help.

Pancake supper
GOODRICH — The Goodrich Equestrian Team hosts a flapjack dinner fundraiser from 5-8 p.m. April 18 in the café at Goodrich High School, 8029 S. Gale Rd.
Chris Cakes, a pancake catering company featured on the Food Network, will be a featured pancake flipper. Cost is $7 per person. All proceeds benefit the equestrian team. — N.B.
