Recycling competition
GENESEE COUNTY
— The Genesee County Metropolitan Planning Commission teamed up with Fox 66, CBC Recycling, the Mott Community College Environ-mental Club and the Garden Association to reduce the amount of waste going to landfills.
They have created a recycling competition for grades K-12 in Genesee County to see who can recycle the most the items. The winner will be honored at the Mott Community College Earth day and Garden Celebration April 19. For more information, call 810-762-7744. — K.M.P.

M-15 corridor task force meeting in June
GOODRICH
— The next meeting of the M-15 task force is on June 9 at the Brandon Twp. Library, 304 South St. in Ortonville. The meeting will start at 10 a.m., and will be a summary of the progress on M-15. — K.M.P.

GB Twp. meetings
GRAND BLANC TWP.
— The township Board of Trustees meets at 7:30 p.m. April 10 in the township hall meeting room.
The April 3 planning commission has been cancelled. The Zoning Board of Appeals meets at 6:30 p.m. April 15.
The board holds its monthly workshop meeting at 10 a.m. April 23. The Committee of the Whole meets at 5:30 p.m. April 8.

Atlas meetings
ATLAS TWP.
— The Atlas Twp. Board of Trustees meets at 7 p.m. April 21 at township hall, 7386 S. Gale Rd. The board meets regularly on the third Monday of the month.

Music boosters
offers scholarships
GOODRICH
— Goodrich Music Boosters offers scholarships to students want to attend summer camps for instrumental and vocal training.
Forms are available from any music instructor or through the Music Boosters, which meets at 6:30 p.m. the second Tuesday of each month of the school year at the middle school band room.

Women’s Club
hosts luncheon
GRAND BLANC TWP.
— The Grand Blanc Women’s Club will meet for a luncheon at 12:30 p.m. April 16 at the Elks Club on Maple Road.
The speaker will be Mott College Professor Paul Rozycki, who will speak about “What everyone should know about the current political climate before the National Elections.” For reservations, please call Jean Johnson at 810-694-3630.

Mom 2 Mom sale
GRAND BLANC TWP.
— First Congregational Church hosts its second annual Mom 2 Mom sale from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. April 19. The church is at Perry and Belsay roads.
The sale is dedicated to reselling gently used children’s clothing, toys, accessories, baby equipment and maternity clothing. People can rent one table for $20 and additional tables for $15. Signed rental agreements and payments can be downloaded at www.UCCgrand-blanc.org and given to the church office.

Safety seat checks
ATLAS TWP.
— The Jim Waldron Collision Center, along with the Greater Flint SafeKids Coalition hosts a free child safety seat check April 12 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. The child must be in attendance for inspection.

Road race donates funds to GB schools
GRAND BLANC
— Resident Diana Baldes recently presented a $900 check to Grand Blanc West Middle School and a $900 check to Reid Elementary from the October 2007 “Steps & Strides for Schools” 5K run and walk road race.
The race was held in memory of her son, Benjamin Baldes, who died Sept. 26, 2007. West Middle School will use the money to fund scholarships and the money donated to Reid has tentatively been designated to fund playground equipment. — N.B.
