Robertson sets
December office hours
FENTON
— State Rep. Dave Robertson (R-Grand Blanc Twp.) hosts office hours from 8-9:30 a.m. Dec. 10 at the Fenton Community Center, 150 S. Leroy St.
Robertson represents the 51st District, which includes Grand Blanc, Atlas, Argentine, Fenton and Mundy townships; the cities of Linden, Grand Blanc and Fenton; and the Village of Goodrich.

Parents’ night out
GOODRICH
— Need to do Christmas shopping? Have an office party? Dinner and a movie? Oaktree Elementary, 7500 S. Gale Rd., hosts Parents’ Night Out from 5-9 p.m. Dec. 7 in the cafeteria.
Sponsored by the GHS Bowling Teams, children can enjoy fun, food and games while parents have a night to shop or relax. Children will be having pizza and juice, writing and sending letters to Santa, reading Christmas stories and watching The Grinch.

Blood drives
GENESEE COUNTY
— The American Red Cross hosts several blood drives this week.
From noon-5:45 p.m. Dec. 10, the Flint Donor Center, 1401 S. Grand Traverse St., will hold a drive. The center also will hold a drive from 9 a.m.-2:45 p.m. Dec. 7.
The Fenton VFW, 1148 Leroy St., will hold a drive from noon-5:45 p.m. Dec. 10.

Diabetes support group

T — McLaren’s Diabetes Education Program offers a monthly diabetes support group. The group sessions are free and held the second Wednesday of each month at McLaren Regional Medical Center in the Diabetes Education Classroom on Five North.

Budget crisis talk
FLINT
— Tom Clay of the Citizen’s Research Council (CRC) presents a discussion on the state’s budget crisis 9 a.m. Dec. 14 at the Baker College of Flint auditorium.
“Michigan’s Budget Crisis: A Long-term Analysis of the Future of Michigan’s Economy and State Finances” is aimed at the area’s business community. Clay joined the CRC staff in 1997 after serving 31 years with the State of Michigan as director the state’s Executive Budget Offices for 15 years and as deputy state treasurer for six years.
The free event is sponsored by the Genesee Regional Chamber of Commerce, the Flint Journal, the Flint Area College Consortium and the Baker College Family Business Center. — N.B.

Recycle at Oaktree
GOODRICH
— Oaktree Elementary has started a recycling program that is open to the public. A recycling bin is located next to the soccer field at Oaktree Elementary off Gale Road.
Accepted items include catalogs, magazines, newspaper, junk mail, shredded paper in paper bags only, office and copy paper in the bin. The bin is not for garbage, loose shredded paper, cardboard, phone books, glass, plastic, metal or bottles.

GRAND BLANC
— In the Nov. 22 issue, the front page story on Grand Blanc Community School’s Aesop system said that the presentation to the school board was by Diane Wilbur, personnel director, and Paula Catalano, staff development coordinator.
The presentation actually was given by Chris Gates, technology coordinator, and Catalano. All quotes attributed to Wilbur should be attributed to Gates. — N.B.
