Village parking, snow restrictions
GOODRICH — The Village of Goodrich reminds residents that parking on or along any public street, road or highway within village limits is prohibited between 2-7 a.m. and during a snow emergency.
During a snow emergency, the DPW vehicles and snow plows (and vehicles in general) need an unobstructed roadway.
Residents also are reminded that the motor vehicle code prohibits disposing of ice or snow into the road right-of-way by individual homeowners or contracted snow removal companies. Call the village office at 810-636-2570 for more information.
The village has three classification levels for snow and ice removal:
Priority I streets are plowed and salted first. These streets include Hegel east, Erie, Seneca, Pontiac, Clarence and Cemetery.
Priority II streets are cleared after Priority I streets and include Clarence south of Hegel, Huron, Seneca south of Hegel, Ridge and Hegel west.
Priority III streets are maintained last and can be done on employee overtime, based on the discretion of the Village Administrator and/or DPW Supervisor. These streets include Grove, Hawes, Putnam, Shuman, Hufsteader and Dutch.
The DPW determines the schedule for snow plowing based on classification and the amount of snowfall covering the ground or predicted. Street salting/sanding is done following priority classification and as needed by the discretion of the Administrator and DPW Supervisor. — J.N.
