Board meets
GRAND BLANC TWP. — The Grand Blanc Twp. Board meets at 7:30 p.m. tonight at the township government center, 5371 S. Saginaw St.

Student honored
GRAND BLANC — The State Bank has handed out its monthly “Co-op Student of the Month” award to Grand Blanc High School senior Margaret Solomon. Solomon works at Hungry Howie’s where she has many daily responsibilities. After college, she hopes to one day open her own business. — P.H.

Holiday baskets
GRAND BLANC — Grand Blanc High School students, in partnership with Grand Blanc FISH, will see their initiative pay off at 8:30 a.m. Dec. 20.
High school students collected gifts, toiletries and food items for local families in need over the last few weeks. The products will be packaged in baskets by FISH and will be distributed to 34 needy families beginning at 8:30 a.m. Dec. 20.
Middle school and elementary students also collected supplies for FISH this year. — P.H.

Offices closed
GOODRICH — The Goodrich Administration offices will be closed Dec. 25 and 26, and Jan. 1 and 2 in observance of the holiday season.
Regular office hours are 8 a.m.-6 p.m. Mondays, 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Wednesdays and 8 a.m.-noon Fridays. Contact the village office at 810-636-2570 for more information, questions. — J.N.

Holiday hours
STATEWIDE — Secretary of State offices will be closed for the holidays. All offices will close Monday and Tuesday, Dec. 25 and 26, and Jan. 1 and 2, for Christmas and New Year’s. Super Centers also will be closed Saturday, Dec. 23 and 30.
Licenses or plates that expire on days the office will be closed can renew the next open day with no penalty. For information, visit www.Michigan.gov/sos. — P.H.

Rewrite committees
GRAND BLANC — The Grand Blanc School District is looking for district parents or community members interested in serving on Strategic Plan rewrite committees.
Earlier this year at the Strategic Plan Retreat, the Steering Committee identified four strategies to be reviewed and rewritten beginning in January. The rewrite committees will be comprised of parents, students, teachers, staff and administration. The plans that will be reworked are: technology, grouping, at-risk and assessment.

Financial aid
workshop
GOODRICH — Goodrich High School hosts a College Financial Aid Workshop for parents of high school seniors, beginning at 6:30 p.m. Jan. 4 in the school cafeteria.
A financial aid consultant from Baker College will guide parents in filling out the financial aid forms and answer questions. Parents should bring a copy of their 2006 income tax information and their student’s financial aid packets. Packets will be available at the meeting for parents who had not received one.
