eBay day
GRAND BLANC — The Grand Blanc Post Office hosts an eBay Day from 5-7 p.m. Jan. 25 at the Holy Family Father Bush Parish Hall, 11824 S. Saginaw Rd.
Postal experts will explain online auctioning, demonstrate how to sell items on eBay and then how to use Click-N-Ship at www.usps.com to mail items. The post office also will have free prize drawings and refreshments during the training session.
“People who sell online want the process to be as convenient and cost effective as possible, and we’ve got the experts who can show them how to make the most of it. Our online services meet their need for ease of use and efficiency,” said Grand Blanc Postmaster Patricia Tuer.

Meeting time
GRAND BLANC TWP. — The township board hosts its regular meeting tonight (Thursday) at 7:30 p.m. at the township government center. The board also will have a special meeting at 10 a.m. Jan. 17 to discuss transportation plan funding.

Financial aid night
GRAND BLANC — Grand Blanc Community Schools hosts a Financial Aid Night at 7 p.m. Jan. 29 in the Commons of Grand Blanc High School East, on the corner of Holly and Saginaw roads.
Staff from the UM-Flint Office of Financial Aid will present information and offer instructions and assistance for parents and students on filling out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

Track offenders
STATEWIDE — The State of Michigan sex offender registry website is now allowing citizens to sign up for e-mail notification when a registered sex offender moves into your area.
The site allows residents to enter their e-mail address and up to six different zip codes. If a registered offender moves into one of the zip codes, an e-mail notification will be sent.

Appreciation night
GOODRICH — The Goodrich School Board is sponsoring a reception from 5-6 p.m. Jan. 22 to recognize local businesses for their support of schools, clubs and athletic teams throughout the year.
Hors d’oeuvres will be served during the reception, which will be in the high school community room. All local businesses are invited to attend. The reception will precede the board’s regular meeting at 6 p.m. — P.H.

STATEWIDE — Secretary of State offices statewide will be closed Monday, Jan. 15, in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Licenses and plates expiring on that day can be renewed the following day with no late penalty.

Help police
GRAND BLANC TWP. — Police are looking for a man who followed a young girl from her bus stop to her home on Jan. 4.
The suspect is described as a white male in his late 20s to early 30s with very short hair and possibly growing a beard. The man was wearing an orange and yellow coat and driving a newer model black SUV, possibly a Jeep.
A school bus dropped the girl at her bus stop — in the area of Alexander and Beulah streets — shortly after 4 p.m. The driver then followed the girl, but never made contact with her, police said.

Supper, songs
FLINT — The University of Michigan-Flint Chamber Singers are presenting a concert from 11:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. this Sunday at the Flint Masonic Temple, located downtown on Saginaw Street.
There also will be an all you can eat chicken dinner served during the performance. Tickets are $8 for adults, $5.50 for children ages 2-12 and free for kids younger than 2. Proceeds will be used for a trip for the group to Scandinavia.
