receiving A grades
GRAND BLANC — Grand Blanc Community Schools is one of five districts in the state of Michigan with three or more schools receiving an A grade on the Education YES! system of accreditation.
Assistant Supt. Norman Abdella informed the school board of the honors at the Dec. 3 meeting. “We are proud of our students, parents and administration,” said Abdella.
The schools receiving A-grades are Anderson Elementary, Cook Elementary, Mason Elementary, City School, Indian Hill Elementary, McGrath Elementary, Myers Elementary, Reid Elementary and Grand Blanc High School. The high school is one of 32 in the state to receive the exemplary grade.
In other news:
• Grand Blanc West Middle School sixth grade teachers Pamela Canada and Jaimi Hegenauer presented information on the year’s first Survivor Camp for incoming sixth-graders.
• The next school board meeting is 7 p.m. Jan. 7 in the Perry Center boardroom. — N.B.
