Board approves second reading of policies
GRAND BLANC — The board unanimously approved the second readings of two policies during its Monday night meeting.
The first board policy focuses on the quality-improvement process. The second focuses on testing out of courses. “I want to make clear that this policy makes accommodations for the class of 2011,” said Supt. Dr. Michael Newton.
In other news: Board recognized 22 teachers in the district who were the mini-grant recipients for 2006-07. The grants gave teachers up to $500 to implement special classroom programs.
These teachers include Sarah Amen, Alisa Andree, Lori Brunskole, Maureen Callahan, Marilyn Colton, Judy Curtiss, Melissa Harris, Erin Howard, Kevin Keilitz, Rebecca King, Linda Kinney, Miranda Mead, Keri Nemecek, Morgan Paige, Shawn Rogers, Julie Serra, Tara Stimac, Tricia Stuck, Michelle Towns, Lee Ann White, Crystal Wilkerson and Lisa Zolna. — N.B.
