“This is the first time in 23 years that we have done a police chief swearing in,” said Matheny. “Congratulations and best of luck to you.”

GOODRICH
BOARD OF
EDUCATION
Goodrich could see influx of students outside the district
GOODRICH — The Board of Education unanimously approved purchasing a truck with a snowplow for the maintenance department from Signature Ford for $31,077.
“We are only buying them as we need them,” said maintenance supervisor Mark McCallum. “Essentially, that’s the reason we have to have this truck, for plowing.”
The district had sought bids from over 60 GMC, Chevrolet and Ford dealers, deciding on the lowest bid, a 2008 Ford F-350 with a crew cab. The new vehicle replaces a 20-year-old plow truck.
The district’s maintenance and school ground employees plow the school parking lots and driveways during the winter. The district does not hire an outside service for snow removal. — J.N.
