BOARD OF TRUSTEES

Board to seek

public bond input

GOODRICH -- The board will hear the recommendations from a committee of community members during its April 23 meeting on what improvements should be included in a bond proposal to renovate district facilities.

The Facilities Planning Committee – consisting of parents and other community members and district staff – have been looking over the district’s facilities and will put together a list of recommended improvements that should be made.

The board could ask voters in November to approve a $17 million bond to renovate and upgrade the districts buildings, athletic facilities and technology equipment. The bulk of the millage would be used to renovate the high school building.

The board will have to decide by August if it wants to put the bond before voters in the Nov. 6 election, or they would have to wait until February 2008 to do so.

In other business:

· The board voted to purchase two new school buses at a cost of $135,142 through the GISD’s cooperative purchasing program.

· The Goodrich Schools Talent Show is scheduled for May 10.

· The next regular school board meeting is 6 p.m. April 23 in the high school Community Room. -- J.N.
