CBMC meets
each Wednesday
GRAND BLANC TWP. — The Christian Businessmen’s Committee (CBMC) meets 6:30-7:30 a.m. each Wednesday at Grand Blanc Motor Cars, Ltd., 9099 N. Holly Rd.
The committee is open to businessmen in Genesee County. Each meeting features a guest speaker. There is no cost to join.

Mending Hearts gala
FLINT — Whaley Children’s Center hosts The Mending Hearts Gala Sept.20 at the Holiday Inn Gateway Centre.
The evening begins at 6 p.m. with a cocktail reception, butler-served hors d’oeuvres and a silent auction. The program and dinner begin at 7:30 p.m., followed by the live auction. Information on auction items is available at whaleychildren.org. Attire for the evening is formal.
The Mending Hearts Gala of 2007 raised $70,000 for the children at Whaley Children’s Center. The center’s goal this year is $75,000. Proceeds from the event go towards advancing the center’s vision of “Transforming Lives and Creating Futures.”
Individual tickets are $125 per person. A variety of sponsorships are also available from $500-$5,000 and include a wide range of promotional opportunities and acknowledgments.

Long Range Transportation Plan meeting
FLINT — The Genesee County Metropolitan Planning Commission will hold a non-motorized and complete streets policy meeting from 2-4 p.m. July 10.
The meeting will help craft the policy recommendations for Genesee County, as part of the Genesee County 2035 Long Range Transportation Plan.
