confuses cops
GRAND BLANC TWP. — A Seven Hills, Ohio man contacted police to say he had driven up to Michigan with another Ohio resident to purchase scrap metal to take to Chicago.
The man said he and the woman he was traveling with rented a motel room on Holly Road, and after emerging from a shower, discovered that the woman had left with the $1,000 for purchasing the scrap metal and the truck the man had rented to transport the metal.
Police investigated the woman’s identity and found that she was a prostitute and may also be a crack addict. The man also admitted to being a crack addict and, after running the man’s information, police found he had a warrant out of Los Angeles for possession of dangerous drugs. The Los Angeles Police Department did not wish to extradite the man.
Police also discovered that the truck had not been stolen and was later found near Detroit. Police also question whether a woman was really involved in the matter and are still investigating the incident. — K.S.
