GRAND BLANC TWP. — The owner of a white 2006 Chevy Malibu reported that someone backed into their vehicle during a bridal show at Woodfield Golf Course on Feb. 24. Suspects are unknown and the damage amounts to $1,400. — K.S.
It’s medicinal
GRAND BLANC TWP. — Police stopped a vehicle traveling near Cook and Holly road on March 10 at 1:44 p.m. because the driver’s windshield wipers were in the upright position.
After police interviewed the driver, a Grand Blanc man, 48, they identified a baggy of what appeared to be marijuana sitting on the center console. When asked about the baggy, the man said it was marijuana and that he smokes it because he has severe back pain. He was arrested for possession of an illegal substance. — K.S.
Everything but the refrigerator
GRAND BLANC TWP. — A homeowner reported that between Jan. 31 and March 7 a breaking and entering and a burglary occurred at a residence on Golden Gate Blvd.
The house was up for sale and empty when unknown suspects broke into the residence and stole a gas cook top, microwave, bathroom and living room light fixtures, stove, dishwasher and a silver CD player. Total value was $4,000.
A neighbor saw an older model Chevy four-door car and a navy blue van parked on the premises prior to the break-in. Anyone with information on vehicles matching this description should contact the Grand Blanc Twp. Police at 810-424-2611. — K.S.
Bicycle found
GRAND BLANC TWP. — A resident found a Huffy Rock Slide ten-speed bicycle on Grand Blanc Road near Woodstone on March 12. Also found near the bicycle was a green adult-size jacket. Anyone with information regarding who the bicycle or jacket belongs to should contact the Grand Blanc Twp. Police at 810-424-2611. — K.S.
Catalytic converter thieves caught
GRAND BLANC TWP. — Security at Genesys Health Park reported two individuals stealing catalytic converters from cars in the hospital parking lot.
When the police arrived, they located the pair hiding in a van. They were identified as father and son - a Flint man, 47 and a Fenton man, 18. They confessed to stealing a catalytic converter from a 2003 Hyundai by cutting the part off with a battery operated electric saw. They also admitted to stealing another catalytic converter from a vehicle at a Kroger store.
Police found the son had a warrant out of Flint for a traffic violation and was transported to the Flint City Jail. The father was released pending further information. — K.S.
