Paraphernalia, open intoxicants
GRAND BLANC TWP. — Police arrested a man in the 5100 block of Auker Dr. on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and minor in possession of alcohol after a traffic stop June 16.
Police stopped the male for speeding and observed an open bottle of Long Island Iced Tea in the driver’s vehicle. The man was asked to exit the vehicle and additional police backup were called in. The man admitted that the alcohol was his and he told the officers that he had been drinking earlier in the day.
A pipe for smoking marijuana was later located after a search of the suspect’s vehicle. He was cited and released.
DUI
GRAND BLANC TWP. — Police arrested a Swartz Creek woman on the corner of Fenton and Grand Blanc Rds. June 22 after observing the woman fail to stop at the intersection.
The driver then proceeded to make a wide turn into a curb, later straddling the lines between lanes. She was stopped by police and later identified. She admitted to drinking two alcoholic beverages before attempting and failing a field sobriety test. She registered a .18 PBT. She was taken back to the township police department, where she blew a .18 and a .19 on a Breathalyzer.
She was arrested and lodged in the Genesee County Jail.
Stolen converter
GRAND BLANC TWP. — A stolen auto part was reported to police June 16.
The victim told police that the catalytic converter was stolen from underneath their 2003 Chevrolet Venture around 1:45 p.m. while the vehicle sat parked in the lot of Genesys Regional Medical Center.
There are no suspects and the case remains under investigation.
Caught out past curfew
GRAND BLANC TWP. — Four teenagers were arrested June 22 following a call to police of a reported breaking and entering in progress at a residence in the 8100 block of Reid Rd.
Police observed what appeared to be a breaking and entering in progress after arriving on the scene, initially losing sight of the suspects and later making contact with the four juveniles in the garage of the residence. The officer checked the home and spoke with the suspects, who claimed they were just hanging out by the garage. The officer noted the odor of burnt marijuana in the air, while he observed fresh damage to the wood surrounding the garage door lock. The door appeared to be have been damaged after being kicked in.
The individuals later admitted they had no permission to be on the premises. Police arrested a Burton male for attempted breaking and entering and curfew violations; a Swartz Creek male for breaking and entering and curfew violations; a Flint female for breaking and entering and curfew violations; and a Grand Blanc Township female for breaking and entering, curfew violations and violation of a controlled substance.
They were taken back to the police department and later released pending further investigation. The case has been forwarded to the probate court.
