Senior center activities on tap

GRAND BLANC — An assortment of activities and events for local seniors are scheduled at Grand Blanc Senior Center over the next few weeks.

Tai Chi classes are held at 2 p.m. Mondays. Cost is $36 for a full six-week session.
Body recall I classes are held at 8:30 a.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and also at 10:45 a.m. Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. Body recall II is held at 9:30 a.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Cost is $40 for each 10 week series of classes.

A Zumba aerobic exercise class, incorporating a few Latin dance moves, will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesdays, beginning Sept. 10. Cost is $30 for the six-week session.

A walking group is held at 8:45 a.m. Tuesdays, 8 a.m. Thursdays and 1 p.m. Fridays. Join in for some fun and friendship.

Computer classes will begin Sept. 4. All classes are held on Thursdays and are four weeks in length. A basic computer knowledge class will be held at 9 a.m. A basic internet class will be held at 10:10 a.m. A class designed to help individuals handle their digital photos will be held at 11:20 a.m. A Microsoft word processor computer class will be held at 12:30 p.m. The cost is $60 for each four week series.
New sessions for watercolor painting courses begin Sept. 9. Classes will be held on Tuesdays at 9:30 a.m. Cost is $30 per four week session.

Acrylic painting courses are held from 10 a.m.-noon on Thursdays. Cost is $15 per person. Registration is recommended.

A bridge card group meets at noon Mondays. No partner is required for this group. Bridge is also held at 6:30 p.m. Tuesdays. Partners are required to join in this game. Registration is suggested. A Euchre card game is held at 12:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Fridays. Pinochle is on tap at 1 p.m. Mondays and Tuesdays.

Join in for a bingo game at 1 p.m. Wednesdays. Cost is .01 cent per card for regular games, .02 cents per card for special games and .03 cents per card for the last round. If you plan on attending lunch, please call in advance to make reservations.

A Mah-Jongg group meets at 12:30 p.m. on Thursdays and at 10 a.m. on Fridays. Scrabble is held at 1 p.m. Mondays. A book club meets regularly at 10 a.m. on the second Thursday of the month.

Line dancing courses are held at noon on Mondays. The cost is $3 per person.

A volleyball game is held at 10:45 a.m. Mondays and again at 1 p.m. Thursdays.
