FLINT — With more than 41 million people between the ages of 40-74, living with pre-diabetes, McLaren Regional Medical Center helps them with a pre-diabetes class 10 a.m.-noon Aug. 27 in the classroom on 5 North.
The class covers prevention, risk factors, physical activity and nutrition. The fee is $25 and includes handouts. Registration is required.
Diabetes is diagnosed when fasting blood sugar levels are at 126 and above. If someone has a fasting blood sugar level between 100-125, a person has pre-diabetes, which could lead to Type 2 diabetes.
To register for the class or for questions, call McLaren’s Diabetes Education Program at 810-342-4110.
