FLINT — The Flint Children’s Museum encourages patrons to come get wild with some amazing animals during the month of July.

Several animal-related activities will run throughout the month, including crafts, games and visits from live animals. The month also starts Terrific Tuesdays, designed to give families free access to the museum every Tuesday from July 8 through the end of August.

Story hour takes place from 10-11 a.m. July 8 and 22. Tot Time, a special story time for children up to age 3, runs 2-2:30 p.m. July 16, 23 and 30. On July 10, Diane Turland will bring baby bunnies to the museum for children to touch and hold while learning about bunny growth and care from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

The stuffed animal parade will be 10 a.m.-noon July 12. Participants should bring their favorite stuffed animal.

Darren Bagley will bring in several different bugs from the waters of Genesee County from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. July 16 for children to view and ask questions.

On July 17, children can meet the animals from the Genesee County Humane Society. The organization will bring a number of animals for museum guests to play with. They also will provide information on how to get involved with local animals.

Finally, Pitchfork Ranch will bring two of their llamas to the museum from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. July 18 for children to pet and learn about.

Special summer admission is $3 per person. The museum is at 1602 W. Third Ave. Museum hours are 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Tuesday-Friday and 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday. Details: 810-767-5437 or www.flintchildrensmuseum.org. — Anna Stodola
