History re-enacted
LAPEER — Brian Ervin, founder of Heritage Institute will read the Declaration of Independence at the Historic Lapeer County Courthouse from 9-9:30 a.m. on July Fourth.

Patriotic songs and the Pledge of Allegiance is also part of the event. Special acknowledgement will be given to veterans and active-duty military personnel.

Getting it right
In the June 26 story TNU offers annual report, it should have noted more clearly that funding for the organization comes from municipalities within Lapeer County, not from the county itself.
Roy Sexton, featured in a June 26 business story, Calming influence, is a volunteer instructor at the Lapeer County Jail, not the Thumb Regional Correctional Facility.
