NORTH BRANCH — Participants in the annual 5K walk/run on July 5 during the North Branch Days celebration also will support the troops with their entry fee.

Pre-registration fees are $20, and onsite-registration is $23. A T-shirt is included.

Proceeds from the event are destined for the locally run Operation Care Package.

Meet at the Orr Museum in downtown North Branch, just south of M-90 on Jefferson. Walkers step out at 7:30 a.m. followed by runners at 8 a.m.

Jolene Kreiner, North Branch Fourth of July Committee member, is the organizer, and the event is underwritten by Dr. William J. Starbird and North Branch Family Health Care. Call Jolene to pre-register at 810-688-3754.

All ages are welcome. Medals are awarded in age and gender categories. — R.A.
