Brian Hayes, renowned Frisbee expert, will offer a demonstration on the lawn of the Marguerite deAngeli branch of the Lapeer District library on Tuesday, July 8, at 2 p.m. Hayes will discuss Frisbee history, demonstrate some trick shots and explain how he trained his dog, Ulysses, to catch the Frisbee. Ulysses will be there to show off his skills. It’s family entertainment. Parents are asked to bring a blanket for sitting.

The library will continue to host its popular “Lunch with the Munch Bunch” on Wednesday, July 9, on the library lawn at noon. Families may bring a lunch, something to drink and a blanket. After a picnic, library staff will divide the children into groups by age and read stories to them.

On Thursday, July 10, from 10 a.m. to noon, school-age children are invited to the meeting room of the deAngeli library for a simple make-it-and-take-it craft that may take 15-20 minutes. No registration is required.

Also on Thursday at 2 p.m. the library will host a reading workshop designed for third- and fourth-grade children and parents. This workshop is presented by the Family Literacy Center. To register, call 810-664-2737.

The Lapeer District Library and the Family Literacy Center are partners for literacy in Lapeer County.
