LAPEER — Schickler Elementary School recently received an educational resource grant from Sylvan Dell Publishing, a children’s book publisher. The school was one of several schools across Michigan to receive the grant.
The grant is for a free, one-year site license that allows the school to have unlimited access to all 35 Sylvan Dell eBooks.
The eBooks feature flipviewer technology with selectable English and Spanish text and audio.
“The license can be used on all school computers and may be placed on secure school websites, enabling students and their families to log in and have access from their homes,” according to a press release.
Sylvan Dell Publishing said the grant offer is part of its mission of “bringing science and math to children through literature.”
Grants are awarded to one elementary school per district and schools may submit grant applications directly. Applications are available online at www.SylvanDellPublishing.com/ResourceGrant.htm.
