LAPEER — More local people plan to raise funds to fight breast cancer with a 3-day, 60-mile walk in September.

Lapeer resident Angela Nichols, a member of the Linda’s Rays of Hope Team, invites everyone to her team fundraiser at Buffalo Wild Wings Grill and Bar in Lake Orion on Sunday, June 29. Stop by for lunch, dinner or a snack and 20 percent of the purchase will go to the charity. Call Angela for details at 810-664-3695

Linda’s Rays will walk in memory of Angela’s Auburn Hills co-walker Melanie who lost her mother to breast cancer in March after an eight-year battle. Melanie can be reached at 248-830-3002.

Eighty-five percent of the net proceeds of the annual 3-Day Walk event go to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure organization with the remaining 15 percent of net funds to the National Philanthropic Trust Breast Cancer Fund. The trust funds provide a permanent endowment for ongoing support of breast cancer initiatives.

Other local walkers who have contacted the LA VIEW include: Amie Butterfield at 810-664-5694, Brianna Ferguson and Nicole Dhooge at 810-656-9743 or 810-656-4808, and Jean Zima at 810-678-3288. — R.A.
