Give blood, see race

LAPEER — Through Sept. 11, all donors have the opportunity to enter to win race tickets to one of several NASCAR events or a $500 gas card. The Red Cross is encouraging new and previous blood donors to help offset an anticipated summer blood shortage by giving blood.

Blood drives will be:

• July 7, Calvary Bible Church, 923 S. Main, Lapeer, 10 a.m.-7:45 p.m.

• July 8, North Branch American Legion, 4075 Huron, North Branch, 12:30 p.m.-6:15 p.m.

• July 13, Bishop Kelley School Community Room, 926 W. Nepessing, Lapeer, 9 a.m.-2:45 p.m.

Blood donors must be at least 17 years old, weigh at least 110 pounds and be in good general health. Details: 1-800-GIVE LIFE or www.redcrossmichigan.org. Blood drive times and locations are subject to change. — J.F.
