Local music scene
The Hitch’n’Post will host Saint Paulie Street from 9 p.m. to close on Friday and Saturday May 16 and 17.
The Coffee Tree Café will host Steve Prince, a Native American flutist on Saturday, May 17, starting at 6 p.m. There’s also open mic night every Friday.
Lapeer Music Soundstage/Cup of Joe Downtown will host John Ingersol from 6 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, May 17.
The Lake Inn hosts Jeff Gurney every Saturday night starting at 9 p.m.
There is a Country Music Jamboree on the third Sunday of every month from 1 to 5 p.m. Musicians are welcome to join house band Smokey Ridge at the Elba Township Hall. A $4 donation is requested at the door.
Theater camp
TROY — Etico Productions is offering a two-week professional training program for aspiring thespians. The camp is open to middle and high school students. LAPEER — Lapeer Celebrates the Arts is looking for performers for Saturday, June 7, and Sunday, June 8.
The festival also is looking for poets for the Poetry Slam on Saturday, June 7, at 2 p.m.
