LAPEER — Gallery 194 currently has James Conner’s work and the Lapeer Montage on display in the lower gallery. In the upper gallery, the Lapeer Art Association has its show, Imagine That!, featuring artwork from friends and family of the association’s members. — J.F.

Concerts in the park
IMLAY CITY — On Tuesday, July 8, beginning at 7 p.m. in Lamb Steele Park The Fairlanes will play hits from the early days of rock-n-roll.
METAMORA — On Thursday, July 3, at 7 p.m. in Harmer park, High Street Shelter will play as part of the concerts in the park series.
LAPEER — On July 3 on the Historic Courthouse lawn, the Lapeer Civic Orchestra will feature a selection of patriotic songs. Details: www.lapeerorchestra.com., Gary Dixon, 810-441-9075. — J.F.

Drum up a storm
LAPEER — Students and adults can take part in a 6-hour African drumming intensive on July 22-24. The camp is held 1-3 p.m. each day for students who are entering grades 4-7, from 3-5 p.m., for students entering grades 8 and up, and from 6-8 p.m., for adults 18 and older.

Movies in the Park
IMLAY CITY — On Thursday, July 12, Imlay City’s Movies in the Park will show National Treasure. The movie is rated PG. Movies in the Park are shown at Lamb Steele Park on 150 N. Main St. starting at dusk. — J.F.

Beer tent funds projects
NORTH BRANCH — American Legion Post 457 hosts the beer tent during North Branch Days with proceeds helping fund charitable programs.
It opens at 5:30 p.m. each night from July 3- July 5. Bands start at 7:30.
