Auditions hit a high note on Nov. 19 at 6:30 p.m. when the PIX Theatre hosts tryouts for its Christmas Crescendo, scheduled for Dec. 15.
Singers and storytellers will celebrate the season in a show for family, friends and neighbors as Lapeer features its best local artists. This event is supported by Tom and JoJean Riley and Circle K RV. For details, call 810-664-4824. — W.C.

Robin Hood

— The combined efforts of Lapeer East and West High Schools, aka: The Lapeer East/West Drama Club, will steal your hearts this week, but for a good cause. In its first of two annual plays, the club presents Robin Hood on Nov. 15 and 16, in the Lapeer East auditorium. Tickets are available at the door starting at 7 p.m., and are $5 for students, college students, senior citizens, and children; adults are $7. The show is under the direction of new drama instructor Jennifer DeWitt. — W.C.

Dome de-lights

— The planets are starring in Longway Planetarium’s dome, the largest in Michigan, throughout November. Laser shows, rock classics and a
celestial ride await visitors on Saturday and Sunday afternoons, with hourly shows from 12:30-3:30 p.m. The Planetarium is located on the Flint Cultural Center Campus at 1310 E. Kearsley St.

— On Saturday, Nov. 17, the Joe Toole Band takes the Lapeer Music soundstage at Cup of Joe downtown from 6-8 p.m. for a show filled with blues, rock and country sounds.

Sneaky peeky

— Grab a sneak peek behind the scenes of two favorite holiday programs at Flint Institute of Music. See Holiday Pops and The Nutcracker during a free family event on Saturday, Nov. 17.
Snippets of each program are available to view and hear, from ballet dancers rehearsing to a brass ensemble playing Christmas carols between noon and 2:30 p.m.
