Preisel earns
Leader Advancement
Scholarship at CMU
MOUNT PLEASANT — Katelyn Preisel of Attica has been awarded a Leader Advancement Scholarship from Central Michigan University.
Preisel, the daughter of Jim and Kim Preisel of Attica, received the four-year, $2,000-per-year scholarship based on a distinguished record of leadership and service during her years at Imlay City High School.
Leader Advancement Scholars reside in the leadership residence hall and complete eight courses with a specialized leadership emphasis. In addition, she will participate in and take leadership roles in student organizations, attend leadership events and trainings, engage in community service activities, join university committees, plan campus events, mentor freshmen scholarship recipients, and more throughout the four-year scholarship period.
Preisel also will have the opportunity to complete CMU’s new leadership minor, an interdisciplinary program that incorporates several of the special courses for scholarship recipients and features leadership theory and fieldwork courses. It is the first and only leadership minor at a four-year, public university in Michigan.
