Gotta dance?
LAPEER — Lapeer Community Theatre is holding Musical Theatre Dance and Movement workshops at the Lapeer Train Depot, 71 Howard St., on Mondays, June 4-25 at 7 p.m. This class is for everyone, especially the beginner. Wendy from Dynamic Dance will teach basic theatre-dance that will prepare actors for auditions and performances.

“If you are thinking about auditioning for Oklahoma! July 15 and 16, this is the class for you,” said Craig Martin, director of the PIX Theatre. “It’ll include traditional and basic dance steps, counting basic four-four time, getting your feet to move where you want them to, and thinking about all of that — while performing in front of a crowd.”

The class is recommended for ages 13 and up. The fee for the class is $10, and that includes a 1-year membership in LCT. For more information or to register, call 810-664-4824, stop by the PIX box office 12-6 p.m., Tuesday-Saturday, or send your name, address and phone number along with the registration fee to LCT at 172 W. Nepessing, Lapeer 48446. Make checks payable to Lapeer Community Theatre. — R.C.

Native plant sale
benefits conservancy
OXFORD — Oakland Land Conservancy’s 9th annual plant sale gives gardeners the chance to purchase a wide array of wildflowers, grasses and sedges, trees, shrubs and native vines at a prime time for this year’s planting.

The sale is this Sunday, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. at the Auburn Hills Community Center, and noon-5 p.m. at the Kingsbury Country School. Sales and donations at Kingsbury will be matched dollar for dollar by the Saginaw Bay Watershed Initiative Network to support the Metamora Horse Country conservation project.

All plants are Michigan genotypes grown by WildType Nursery in Lansing. They’re hardy in southeast Michigan’s climate and soils. And they provide the sustenance native birds and butterflies have relied on for centuries.
