Pancake breakfast
ATTICA TWP.
— A pancake breakfast from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Sunday will help pay the way for a Lynch Elementary sixth-grader to attend the Junior National Young Leaders Conference training camp this summer in Washington, DC.
Megan Culbert, an honor roll student, was nominated as a Junior National Scholar by her teacher to attend this week-long training to learn leadership, character, communication, goal setting, respect, problem-solving and teamwork.
Sponsored by the Attica/ Imlay City Masons, the all-you-can-eat event is at the Masonic Temple on Lake Pleasant Road, one mile north of I-69. Adults $5, children ages 5-10 $3, kids under 5 eat for free. — J.B.

Quilt Show & Tea

Benefit auction
LAPEER
— The Family Literacy Center’s 15th annual benefit auction and dinner is on tap Friday, April 27, at the Lapeer Country Club. Tickets are $45 each and include hors d’oeuvres, dinner, dessert, complimentary beer and wine. Tables for 8 may be purchased for $325.

Country/Western Fun Day

— A Country/Western Family Fun Day to raise funds for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society is set for this Saturday, April 21, 11 a.m.-5 p.m. at the Michigan Christian Youth Camp, 820 N. Lake George Rd.

Sweet School hosts Reunion/ Open House

— Sweet Elementary will host an open house and reunion for former and current students of the school, staff and friends on Sunday, May 6, from 1-4 p.m.
Sweet is set to close at the end of the school year.

A call for student art
LAPEER
— Wild Lapeer planners want student art for an Earth Day-inspired art show and exhibit. Students must deliver their work to Sleeping Dragon Gallery by Saturday, April 21.
The address is 340 W. Nepessing. Gallery hours are Tuesday-Friday, 11 a.m.-5 p.m. and Saturdays 11 a.m.— 4 p.m.
