Seven Ponds spring adventures
DRYDEN TWP. — Seven Ponds Nature Center will host two spring adventures this month.
Spring Sensations is set for Sunday, May 18, at 2 p.m. The program is a walk for the entire family that focuses on finding interesting things to look for in the spring.
The Spring Bird Walk at Ortonville Recreation Area is Wednesday, May 21, at 7:30 a.m. This program focuses on late migrating birds and nesting species. Catch a carpool at the center. Bring along binoculars, a field guide, a snack and dress for the weather. The fee is $3, but free to nature center members.

Boosters team
at IC McDonald’s
IMLAY CITY — The Imlay City Band Boosters will be at McDonald’s in Imlay City on Wednesday, May 21, from 5-8 p.m.
The boosters are looking for student band volunteers age 14 and up to help for one hour during the event. Volunteers will receive a T-shirt to wear as the evening’s uniform.
The event will include dinner specials, music, and face painting. The Imlay City Band Special will be two Big Macs or two Fish Fillets for $3.

MARLETTE — Marlette Regional Hospital Auxiliary is hosting a fundraising event featuring “Masquerade” jewelry for $5 on Friday, May 16, from 8 a.m.-5p.m. at the hospital’s medical office building lobby.

Firefighters are looking for gently used household items and furniture, but not clothing items.

LAPEER — Meetings for volunteers putting together the Alzheimer’s Blankies Project are now in the conference room of Edward Jones Financial Advisor Brian Hurst. The address is 3056 Davison Rd. Suite 3.
The group sews small comfort quilts for those afflicted with Alzheimer’s. Meetings are the third Tuesday of every month. — S.B.

hosting annual sale
DRYDEN — Dryden Historical Society is hosting its annual plant sale on Saturday, May 17, from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. at the Historical Museum in the village.
Plants offered will be primarily perennials from the museum gardens and from society members. This sale raises money for the museum’s operation.

Preschool registration
NORTH BRANCH — Walk-in preschool registration takes place on Thursday, May 22, from 5-7 p.m. at the North Branch Elementary School for children who will be 4 years old by Dec. 1, 2008.
