I.C. Car meet
to start May 1
IMLAY CITY
— Imlay City’s Classic Car meet takes place from 6-9 p.m. every Thursday, starting May 1, at the Pamida lot on the corner of M-53 and Newark Roads.
Bring you classic cars or hot rods. Organizers offer a special thanks to those who participated last year. — R.A.

Siren testing
schedule set
LAPEER COUNTY
— Tornado siren testing takes place at 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 3.
Siren testing for the remainder of the season is on the first Saturday of the month: June 7, July 5, Aug. 2, Sept. 6 and Oct. 4.
If inclement weather is present at testing time, the test will be cancelled. Questions about the sirens should be directed to the fire departments that serve the community.

Red Cross classes
LAPEER
— American Red Cross adult, child, infant CPR, AED and First Aid courses are offered on Saturday, May 3.
Learn lifesaving techniques in various sessions from 8 a.m.- 4:30 p.m.
Costs range from $35 for adult CPR to $60 for all of the classes. The fee includes materials.
Sessions take place on the second floor community room of the old National City Bank Building, 220 W. Nepessing St. Registration is required at 800-608-4ARC, ext. 405. — R.A.

Bowling for a cause
ALMONT
— Nancy Osentoski will hold Bowling for a cause — Foundation for Ichthyosis and Related Skin Types, at Hideaway Lanes, 4550 Howland Rd. in Almont on May 17 from 7-10 p.m. The cost is $15 per person and includes three games of bowling and shoe rental. Fifty or more people are needed to make the event a success.
Registration forms must be returned with money to Hideaway Lanes by May 10. Hot dogs, pizza, chips and pop will be sold, with 50/50 raffle and strike bowl tickets.

— Saints Peter and Paul Altar Society will host its annual Plant Sale just in time for spring planting.

Metamora P.O.
hosts passport fair
METAMORA
— Metamora Post Office, 3795 N. Oak St., is hosting a passport fair on May 3 and 17 from 9:30 a.m.- 4 p.m.
Bring a birth certificate and driver’s license or identification card and naturalization papers and two passport photos. Passport fees are payable by cash, check or money order to the U.S. Dept. of State. Costs are $75 for adults, age 16 and older and $60 for children under age 16
All children, including newborns and infants, must have their own passport. Both parents or legal guardians must accompany minor children applying for a passport.
A new passport card fee is $20 for adults and $10 for children and payable to the same agency. The passport card can only be used for land or sea entry to Canada, Mexico or Bermuda and the Caribbean, not for air travel. Details: 810-678-2380. — R.A.

Bake sale at
the museum
OTTER LAKE
— Come on down to the Otter Lake Museum from 11 a.m.- 2 p.m. Saturday, May 3, for a bake sale to benefit Otter Lake Days, July 4-6.

Free breakfast
IMLAY CITY
— Mercy Casa Maria of Imlay City will host a free full breakfast buffet for adults 55 and older on Friday, May 2, from 8-10 a.m.
Kathy Sauvola from Sheldon Medical Supply will speak about “Dealing with Arthritis” at 9 a.m.
Her presentation will be followed by complimentary paraffin hand dips, a spa-like treatment that warms and soothes the joints and hands.

Last All-You-Can-Eat
DRYDEN
— St. Cornelius Altar Society will host the last All-You-Can-Eat Breakfast before summer on Sunday May 4 from 8:30-11:30am
The cost is $60 for adults and $4 for children age12 and younger.
The menu includes pancakes, sausage, potatoes, scrambled eggs, biscuits and gravy and beverage. R.A.
