Free program about loss at St. Paul’s
IMLAY CITY — Those who have suffered a loss, whether of employment, a relationship or a loved one, are welcome to “Hope In Loss,” a free program at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Saturday, April 26, from 10 a.m.- 2 p.m.
Registration begins at 9 a.m. Guest speaker is Betty Smith, RN, who has numerous certifications in nursing, bereavement, hospice and oncology and has served as a parish nurse and chaplain. Lunch will be provided for free.

FOSTORIA — Apply for a passport at the Fostoria Post Office from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, April 19.
The total cost for adults is $100, which includes $75 to the U.S. Dept. of State and $25 to the USPS. Fees for children are $85: $60 for the State Department and $25 for the postal service.
Bring a passport application; two passport photos; a certified copy of the applicant’s birth certificate or naturalization papers and a valid driver’s license or state-issued ID. Both parents must be present for children younger than 16. If both parents can’t be present, the DS3053 Statement of Consent or Special Circumstances form must be signed in front of a notary. VASSAR — Thumb Area firefighters will host their 20th annual MVA Fire Fighter Dance on Saturday, April 19 from 6:30 p.m.-1 a.m. at the Vassar Eagles Hall.

Volunteers needed for Camp Forget-Me-Not
LAPEER COUNTY — A volunteer opportunity is open to residents of Lapeer who are 16 years old or older.
Special people are needed to help out at the annual Camp Forget-Me-Not, a two-day daycamp for teens who have experienced the death of a family member or close friend. Camps are June 21-22 at Lion’s Bear Camp in Lapeer. The Visiting Nurse Services of Michigan (VNSM) is hosting the event.
Camp Forget-Me-Not offers teens the opportunity to share their grief experiences. Volunteers are needed in three areas:
* Camp Buddies, who are partnered with individual campers.
* Camp Extras, to help with snack and lunchtime, in the kitchen, with registration, crafts, nature walks and campfire activities.
* Arts and Crafts, to help with the arts and crafts activities.
Those who volunteer are asked to attend training sessions on both May 13 and May 20, from 5:30-8:30 p.m. at VNSM’s administrative building, 1515 Cal Drive, Davison. For details call Carolyn Stubbs at 810- 496-8779.
