Ride for Hope
ATTICA TWP — Radio personality Bob Dutko will host the sixth annual charity fundraiser, Ride for Hope, on Saturday, June 28, at the Attica Township Park. Come on over for a great bike ride, live music, a silent auction, massages, prizes and a barbecue lunch. This event is coordinated by Extreme Response International, which raises money for impoverished people without food and homes. Give blood, see a race
LAPEER — Through Sept. 11, all donors have the opportunity to enter to win race tickets to one of several NASCAR events or a $500 gas card. The Red Cross is encouraging new and previous blood donors to help offset an anticipated summer blood shortage by giving blood.
Blood drives will be:
• July 7, Calvary Bible Church, 923 S. Main, Lapeer, 10:00 a.m.- 7:45 p.m.
• July 8, North Branch American Legion, 4075 Huron, North Branch, 12:30 p.m.- 6:15 p.m.
• July 13, Bishop Kelley School Community Room, 926 W. Nepessing, Lapeer, 9:00 a.m.-2:45 p.m.

IMLAY CITY — Be part of the Blueberry Festival Parade on Saturday, Aug. 2. Plans are currently underway by the Imlay City Downtown Development Authority to make this year’s parade bigger and better than ever.
The deadline for parade applications is Friday, July 18. There is a fee for some entries, and a late entry fee of $25 is new this year, so it’s important that all applications are received before the July 18 deadline.
