LAPEER — Peter McCreedy Jr. was honored recently with the 2005 Dr. Pace Volun-teer Award from the Flint River Watershed Coalition.
He was recognized for leadership in developing the first Annual Canoe Rally in October 2005 as well as involvement in the annual river cleanup, river monitoring and as a team leader in the river improvement project.
McCreedy is strongly involved in the Lapeer Group of the Flint River Watershed Coalition. This group is gearing up for another successful year starting with river monitoring and training in April, free canoe rides at Wild Lapeer on April 29 in downtown Lapeer, river cleanup in May, and river improvement projects throughout the summer.
