Graduation at Dryden Community Schools is Sunday, June 8, at 2 p.m. in the high school gymnasium.
Dryden High School’s top grads for 2008 include:

Marissa Mantey, a 4.0 student and co-valedictorian, is the daughter of Creig and Marlene Mantey. Marissa was captain of the Quiz Bowl team for two years, as well as a member of Students Against Destructive Decisions and the National Honor Society. She will travel to Australia to attend World Youth Day with Pope Benedict XVI this summer. She plans to attend the University of Michigan and study engineering. Marissa is considering a career in either nuclear, mechanical or biomedical engineering.

Co-valedictorian Raya Rubino, daughter of Anthony and Lisa Rubino, is a 4.0 student. She will attend Cornerstone University to become an ESL teacher and a dermatologist.

Brooke Burgess is salutatorian with a 3.8 GPA. She is the daughter of Glenn and Carolyn Burgess. Brooke plans to attend the University of Michigan and major in human nutrition/pre-medical studies with future plans to attend medical school.

Ryan Gentry, the son of Darcey and Claudia Gentry, will graduate with a 3.7 GPA. He plans to attend Oakland University in the fall to pursue a degree in computer engineering and outer space travel technology.

Josh Pridemore, the son of Robin Rust and Channon Pridemore, graduates with a 3.7 GPA. Josh played baseball, basketball and golf. He will attend the University of Georgia in a chiropractic program.

Jeff Chisholm a student with a 3.69 GPA, is the son of Peggy Chisholm. Jeff was active in baseball, basketball, football and golf. He will attend Saginaw Valley State University to study business.

Bethany Smith, daughter of Ken and Joy Smith, will graduate with a 3.68 GPA. She is a member of the track team. Bethany has earned a scholarship to Oakland University.

Samantha LaRue, daughter of David and Valerie LaRue, earned a 3.6 GPA. She will attend a community college for general studies before transferring to a larger school to major in graphic design.

Molly Proulx, daughter of Steven and Susan Proulx, earned a 3.58 GPA. She plans to attend Michigan State University for pre-veterinarian studies and a minor in business.

Greg Anderson, the son of Anthony and Sara Anderson, earned a 3.5 GPA. He is president of the Class of 2008 and plays basketball, golf and runs track. He will attend Western Michigan University to study engineering.
